About Us

Established over 25 years ago, Barnsley Harriers welcomes runners of all abilities. Our members enjoy running on roads, trails, fells. When we’re not training we’re participating in events locally, nationally and internationally.

Membership

If you want to know what we’re all about, we offer a free month's trial with access and support from our run leaders and club members. If you enjoy the trial, you can join us on a yearly membership. We’re welcoming and competitive (if you want to be) running club.

Training

We meet every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30 pm at Shaw Lane Sports Club, offering a friendly and sociable atmosphere. Our training sessions, held in various groups, cover distances from 4 to 9 miles. From the start of October to the end of March we do specific speed and hill workouts on Wednesdays.

Our Races

  • Silkstone Shuffle

    April 25th, June 27th & August 8th.

    A scenic 4.5 mile trail race with one big hill. Online entries for race 2 and 3 are now open.

  • Higham Hurtle

    May 16th, July 18th & September 5th.

    A scenic 5 mile trail race with a few hills. Open to everyone.
