New for 2026, this year’s Cawthorne Canter starts at 7pm on Thursday 16th July. Registration is from 6:15pm at Cawthorne Cricket Club (S75 4HA). The race is run under UKA Rules for Competition (EA Permit 31234). The race entry limit is 500. If you like a scenic approx. 5 mile race, with a few hills along the way, this is the race for you. The race is mainly on trails and starts and finishes at Cawthorne Cricket Club. You can enter. individual races, or the series. If you’re a member of UK Athletics, the price of entry is discounted.

The minimum age for entry is 16.

Online entries close on the Sunday before the race. However, if you miss the online deadline, there’s no need to worry! You can still enter on the day of the race at Race HQ and pay by cash or card.

If you want to enter more than one person, please submit separate orders.

Parking in public Pay & Display car park at Cannon Hall - please see signs in car park for payment details - approx. 15min walk to registration. On-street parking also available in the village.

There is no parking at the Cricket Club for runners and please do not park on Dark Lane.

No headphones of any type to be worn by competitors during the event.

Entry to individual races is £8 for members of UK Athletics. If you’re not a member, the cost is £10.

Enter the Howesy’s Harriers’ Hat-Trick Series for £21 if you’re a member of UK Athletics. If you’re not, the cost is £26.

Modest prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall & 1st in each age category outside the top three.
